Otaku Girl

Esta es mi propuesta para el concurso del cartel del Salón del Manga de Barcelona 2011. Habiendo ganado el año pasado, esto era más una prueba para ver mi evolución en este año. Y creo que esta ilustración es bastante mejor que la del año pasado, pero ganar de nuevo era totalmente improbable (¿recordáis toda la polémica? XD)
Así que probé con un estilo completamente diferente, inspirado en el increíble artista chino Zhang Bin (Benjamin) y sus dibujos agresivamente coloristas. Hice una chica japonesa bastante realista, leyendo un manga en un tren elevado, por la noche. Estoy contento con cómo me quedaron los efectos de luz y los reflejos (que eran lo más difícil). Todo está hecho sin copiar de ningún sitio.

This is my entry for the contest of the poster for the Barcelona Manga Convention 2011. Being the winner last year, this was more a test for my drawing skills, to see how much I improved. I think this picture is way better than last year one, but winning again was out of the question (remember the polemic? XD).
So I tried with a complete different style, inspired by the chinese awesome artist Zhang Bin (Benjamin) and its agressive-colorful drawings. I drew a quite-realistic japanese girl reading a manga in an elevated train at night. I'm happy with the different light effects and reflections (the most difficult point). All was made without any reference.
